Roger Lee Miller, 77, of Kingwood, WV, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 22, 2025. He was born on February 26, 1948, a son of the late Henry Miller and Helen (Liston) Miller.
Roger worked hard throughout his life, beginning his career at Ford Motor Company and later working as a coal miner and heavy equipment operator. He eventually retired from Taz Lumber, where he built many lasting friendships. Outside of work, he loved farming and gardening, but his greatest passion was hunting—he was a devoted and enthusiastic deer and bear hunter. He lived his life grounded in family and faith, and more than anything, Roger cherished the love of his family.
He is survived by his two beloved daughters, Loretta Jones (Patrick Bernatowicz) of Kingwood and Donna Knotts (John Knotts) of Tunnelton; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; six siblings: James (Donna) Miller, Robert (Sue) Miller, Lorraine DeBerry, Carolyn (Denny) O’Connel, Robin (Jerry McDaniel) Sager, and Jeff (Kathy) Miller; and many treasured nieces and nephews. Roger also shared a special bond with his great-grandson, PJ, with whom he spent many meaningful moments that will always be remembered with love.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Miller; brother-in-law, Don DeBerry; and infant brother, Earl.
Friends may gather on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 South Price Street, Kingwood, WV, from 4:00 PM until the time of the service at 6:00 PM, with Pastor Kelly Gamble officiating. Following the service, cremation will be accorded privately.
