Ronald Joseph Bishop

Ronald Joseph Bishop, 79, of Aurora, WV, passed away on Friday, Jaunary 3, 2025 at Garrett Regional Medical Center. He was born on February 20, 1945, in Morgantown, son of the late Joseph Emory and Clarice Elizabeth (Harned) Bishop.

Ronald was a 1963 graduate of Kingwood High School. He had worked at Foodland, Chem Metals, Camp Dawson and owned and operated Eglon Farm Service. Ronald enjoyed hunting, farming and watching wildlife. He loved caring for his kids and grandkids.

Ronald is survived by his daughter, Beth Friend and husband Thomas, of Kingsport, TN; two sons, Joe Bishop and wife Deanna, of Oakland, MD, Chad Bishop and wife Beth, of Aurora; six grandchildren, Roni Friend Shaffer (Logan), David Friend, all of Kingsport, Claire Bishop Green (Anthony), of Rivesville, WV, Abby Bishop, of Oakland, Emma Bishop, Ava Bishop, both of Aurora; three great grandchildren, Cheyenne Green, Harper Green, Katie Jo Green; two brothers, Paul Clayton Bishop, of Kingwood, Marshall Bishop (Karen), of Cheat Lake; one sister, Viola “Toots” Groves, of Kingwood; and brother in law, Buck Eavenson, of Hazelton.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Janice Fay (Copen) Bishop; two sisters, Sue Eavenson, Shirley Rinard; and brothers-in-law, Jim Rinard, and  Willard “Phil” Groves

Friends and family will be received at the Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, WV 26537, from 3pm to 7pm on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 and on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 9am until the 11am funeral hour. Pastor Scott Rush officiating. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
