Ronald Allen Turner, age 80, of Kingwood, WV, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024, in Morgantown, WV, with his family by his side. He was born May 12, 1944, in Washington, DC, son of the late Lawrence Earl Turner and Dolly June (Bucklew) Turner. His wife of 57 years Judith “Judy” Ann (Halbritter) Turner survives. They were united in marriage April 29, 1967.
Ron was a 1963 graduate of Kingwood High School. He was a US Army Veteran, having served in Vietnam. He was a self employed masonary contractor and owner of Ron Turner Masonary, and also worked at March-Westin. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed watching WVU sports. He also enjoyed old westerns, particularly “Gunsmoke.” Most of all he loved his family time and his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: two daughters, Shelly Turner, of Washington DC, and Stephanie Turner, of Kingwood, WV; five grandchildren, Alec Oilar and Raven, Jordyn Oilar Kondoff and Jerik, Madison Blaney, Henry Layne V, and Elizabeth Layne; and one sister, Patricia Bradley, of Washington, PA.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Tracy Oilar.
Private services will be conducted by Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, WV. Interment will be at the WV National Cemetery. Full military graveside rites will be accorded by the Taylor County honor guard.
