Roy David Hershman, age 64, of Tunnelton, WV, passed away Monday, December 16, 2024, in Morgantown, surrounded by his family. He was born, January 23, 1960, a son of the late Charles Wesley Hershman and Hallie Floraence (Bryan) Hershman. His wife, Tina May Hershman survives.
Roy worked as a tree trimmer for Asplundh and Hazlett Tree Service. He had attended Green Valley United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and farming. He most enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren watching Chicago Fire, and his granddaughters were his world.
He is survived by: three daughters: Floraenceanne Miller, Angel Dawn Bolyard and ex son-in-law Terry, LaDonna Hershman and fiance’ Harold Rotruck; one brother, Charles Wesley Hershman, Jr. and wife Cora, of Beaver Dam, KY; one sister, Shirley Ann Travis, of Rowlesburg, WV; three grandchildren: LaCosta Dove Moran-Verbonitz and husband Justin, Madison Dawn Bolyard, and Emma Renee Bolyard; three great granddaughters: Annie Bella, Scarlet, and Delillah Verbonitz; and many nieces and nephews; his best bud: like a brother, Roger MacCarty, and Cecil Strawser who was like a father to him.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: one brother, Franklin Earl Hershman; one sister, Phyllis Marie Hershman Waybright Sponagle and her husband Terry; and one grandson Issac Glenn Moran.

Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, WV, on Friday, December 20th 2024, from 12 noon until 2:00 PM, time of Funeral services conducted at 2:00 pm, in the funeral home with Rev. Justin Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Flag Chapel Cemetery, where there will be a covered dish fellowship dinner immediately after the committal service.
