Sandra Lynn Murray, age 64, of Tunnelton, passed from this life to her heavenly home October 31, 2024 in Kingwood, WV. She was born in Parkersburg, October 23, 1960, a daughter of the late Frank “Hop” Ruggles and Dianna “Kay” (Weaver) Ruggles, who survives of Tunnelton. Her husband Brian Murray survives. They were united in marriage August 1, 1987.
In addition to her husband and mother she is survived by: two daughters, Ashley N. Murray and Brian Lee, and Rachael Murray and Michael Close; two grandchildren, Jonah Close and Vivian Close, all of Morgantown; one sister, Kimberly Ruggles Byard and Jeffrey, of Cabins, WV; one niece, Catherine Marie Byard; one nephew, Elijah Keith Byard.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Arnett and Vivian Weaver, and her paternal grandparents, Norman and Katie Ruggles.
Sandra was a member of the Brighter Day Church at Denver. She worked for WesBanco for 31 years and was an assistant branch manager when she retired. She then worked at the Preston County Circuit Clerks office as a clerk. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed being outdoors, and also was an animal lover, and especially loved her dogs, the late Annie, Zeke, and Rosie.
The Murray family will receive friends at the Brighter Day Church from 12 noon until the funeral hour at 1:00 pm. A celebration of life will be held at Brighter Day Church at Denver, Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 1:00 pm. Pastors Roger & Cheryl Harris officiating. Inurnment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donation can be made to the Preston County Animal Shelter, 278 Poor Farm Road, Kingwood, WV 26537. Kingwood Funeral Home and Cremation is honored to serve the Murray family.
