Shalee Kay DeWitt

Shalee Kay DeWitt, age 25, of Kingwood, passed away February 15, 2023.  She was born January 27, 1998 in Morgantown, WV, a daughter of Brad and Louann (Dalton) DeWitt of Kingwood. 

In addition to her parents she is survived by: her sister, Tori DeWitt, of Morgantown; her half-brother, Dustin Hawkins, of Newburg; her nephew, Carter Gabriel DeWitt, of Morgantown, her paternal grandparents, Bob DeWitt and Kay DeWitt, both of Kingwood; her maternal grandparents, Clayton Dalton and Linda Dalton, both of Tunnelton; aunt Missy Gordon and husband Billy and children Cade, Amber, Ashley, Ryan and families, aunt Lori Shahan and husband Doug and daughter Avery, all of Kingwood, uncle Tim Dalton and wife Melissa and children TC Dalton and wife Chyenne and twins, and Kyle Dalton of Reedsville, aunt Becky Holt and husband Steve and children Jeremy, Dakota, and Steven and sons all of Tunnelton, also cousin Alex Dalton, of Morgantown. 

She was preceded in death by her uncle Danny Dalton.

Shalee graduated from Preston High School class of 2016, she attended Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community and Technical College. She was a member of the FFA, the Preston County livestock association, a cheerleader, and played softball and youth basketball. She enjoyed hunting and fishing with her dad and was baptized at Calvary Baptist Church.  Shalee enjoyed reading and painting, the outdoors, and caring for her cats Miley and Buster. 

Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, WV on Sunday, February 19th from 2-6 pm. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 20, 2023 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Anthony Favro officiating. Interment will follow at Davis Cemetery, Monongalia County. Everyone is welcome to a celebration of life dinner immediately following interment at Kingwood Christian Fellowship Church in Kingwood.
