Shirley Kittle Obituary

Shirley Jean Shreve Kittle, age 76, went to be with her family on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 3:14 pm, at home with her family by her side. 

She had been under the care of WV Hospice.  Shirley was a daughter of the late Wilbur L. and Lucille Norton Shreve. 

On December 22, 1962 in Oakland, MD, she was married to Richard Neil Kittle who preceded her in death on May 25, 1973.  Also preceding her in death were one brother and sister-in-law, Jerry L. and Susie Shreve, one sister, Dorothy L. Shreve Johnson, one granddaughter, Heather Dawn Michael and one niece, Jackie Sue Shreve. 

She is survived by one daughter, Kandace D. Michael of Elkins, one son, Adam Ty Kittle, of Elkins, one sister, Wilma Lee Shiflett and husband, Stephen, of Elkins, two brothers, Donald K. Shreve and wife, Sue, of Stalnaker Run, and James A. Shreve and wife, Kathy of Junior, and one grandson, Robert Ryan Teter of Circleville.  She is also survived by 2 nephews, Jerry Shreve and Kevin Shreve, and 4 nieces, Kellie Graham, Tracey Vincent, Kimberly Barnett and Jaime Shreve. 

She attended the schools of Randolph County, graduating from Elkins High School with the Class of 1961, Indiana Business College, and was a graduate of Davis and Elkins College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, and West Virginia Wesleyan College with a Master’s Degree in Business.  She was employed by the WV Department of Agriculture, Department of Natural Resources, C.C. Keys, WV Department of Commerce, Family Health Services, Cardot, Kent and Queen, Attorneys at Law, Vanguard Energy Company, Millers Cove Energy, Southern Eagle Mining, and WV Supreme Court of Appeals, Randolph County, as the Court Reporter, from where she retired in 2004.  

She enjoyed reading, wood crafts and sewing.  She enjoyed being with her grandchildren and taking care of her family.  At the request of the deceased she was cremated and there will be no services. 

Cremation services are under the direction of Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel and Crematory.
