Shirley Kay (Nestor) Nickerson

Shirley Kay (Nestor) Nickerson, age 76, of Kingwood, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Preston Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.  She was born in Kingwood, August 23, 1946, the daughter of the late Claudius Leslie Nestor and Catherine Ruth (Bohon) Nestor.

Shirley was a homemaker and a member of the Manown Church, the AMVETS in Maine, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. She loved to dance and shop.

Surviving are:  one brother, Richard Nestor and wife Donna, of Virginia Beach; one sister June Turner and husband Jim, of Kingwood; one sister in law, Patty Nestor; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by:  two sisters, Judy Burden, and Thelma Nestor; two brothers, Howard Ray Nestor and Leslie “Pete” Nestor; and her lifelong friend, Marilee Hall.

Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street Kingwood, on Saturday, December 31, 2022 from 11 am until the funeral hour. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home at 1 pm with Reverend Anthony Favro officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
