Shirley Christine Sigley, 89, of Rowlesburg, WV, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. She was born on May 6, 1936, in Rowlesburg, daughter of the late Otto and Beatrice (Goff) Burns.
Shirley had worked as a custodian for Kingwood Elementary School for many years. Her love of cleaning carried over to her own home which was spotless. Shirley also enjoyed playing solitaire on the computer, putting together puzzles and flower gardening. She was a loving mother and Grandma Chris.
Shirley is survived by her son, Greg Sigley and wife Crystal, of Parsons; three daughters, Jo-Ann Peaslee and husband Paul, of MO, Aneta Bever and husband Roger, of NC, Angie Lipscomb and husband Dale, of Rowlesburg; two brothers, Donald “Doc” Burns and wife Patty, of Rolwesburg, Paul “Butch” Burns and wife Kenanette “Sis”, of Parsons; three sisters, Jane Britton and husband Blaine, of Rowlesburg, Cookie Horne and husband Jay, of SC, Louise Wiles, of Rowlesburg; seven grandchildren, Julie Sanders, Jaunetta Likins, Loretta Thomas, Jory Bever, Jeremiah Sigley, Justin Sigley, Christy Haney; eighteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of sixty-one years, Lester “Buck” Sigley; two brothers, Joseph “Laze” Burns, Rex Burns Sr.; and a sister, Bonnie Nice.
Cremation services will be accorded by Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price St., Kingwood. A gathering of friends and family will be held at Etam Chapel on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 11am until the 1pm memorial service with Pastor Michael Lantz officiating. Inurnment will be at the Etam Cemetery.
