Silva Anna (Auvil) Teets

Silva Anna (Auvil) Teets, 83, of Spraggs, PA, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, in Waynesburg, PA.

She was born March 10, 1940, in Rowlesburg, daughter of the late Jesse Thomas and Elizabeth Roberta (Bolyard) Auvil. Her husband, Samuel A. Teets, preceded her in death February 10, 2018. They were married 58 ½ years.

Silva was a coal miner and had worked at Peabody Mines. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, the outdoors, and watching football.  Although, her favorite thing to do was to complain.

Silva is survived by two sons, Leroy Teets, of Spraggs, PA, and Kenneth Teets, of Cabot, PA; five grandchildren Lindsey Wilson, Ben Teets, Zoe Teets, Random Johnson, and Nana Pennington; five great grandchildren, Chandler Wilson, Allen Teets, Nell Teets, Maddie Pennington, and Kylie Pennington; a brother, Lee Auvil, of Rowlesburg; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by: one son Dale Allen Teets, on December 12, 2005; a brother, Jesse Auvil; four sisters, Ethel Sigley, Mary Moats, Dolly Griffith, and Betty Teets; and one daughter-in-law, Terri Teets.

Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 11 am until the funeral hour. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm, at the funeral home with Reverend Monica Calvert-Ohler officiating. Interment will follow at Etam Cemetery.
