Suzanne "Mame" (McNear) Collins

Suzanne “Mame” Collins, 75, of Silverwood, Michigan, went home to be with Jesus on February 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Suzanne was born in Kingwood, West Virginia, to Charles and Sarah McNear. As a child, she cherished playing with her brothers and sisters along the Cheat River in Preston County. From an early age, Suzanne found joy in singing and praising Jesus, a love that remained with her throughout her life.

She enjoyed birdwatching, tending to her flowers, and growing blackberry bushes. Above all else, the love of her life was her grandchildren and great-grandbabies. They were her greatest blessing and pride. Mame never liked to say goodbye — instead, she would always say her favorite phrase, “To-de-do.”

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Sarah McNear; her brothers, Terry McNear, Bill McNear, and Butch McNear; and her sister, Patty Hershman.

Suzanne is survived by her brother, Carl McNear and wife Donna; her sister, Hilda Haskiell; her daughters, Tammy Bolyard (Scott) of Silverwood, Michigan, Angel Thorn (Rodney) of Kingwood, West Virginia, and Jody Lehmann (Mark) of Croswell, Michigan; and her sons, Kevin Collins and Clint Collins of Bloomington, Indiana.

She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Ashley Teter, Doug Estey, Okey “Turtle” Teter, Kelsey Shahan, Adam Thorn, Heather Thorn, Makenzie Armstrong, Derek Armstrong, Summer Bolyard, Malaki Bolyard, Maddie Collins, Mason Bolyard, Gabriel Bolyard, Anthony Lehmann, Devin Lehmann, Stefan Collins, Ivy Collins, Uriah Collins; and her treasured great-grandchildren: Madison Taylor, Cecil Thorn, Maybell Thorn, Aubreella Flood, Dodge Estey, Savanna Teter, Aliva Teter, Atlas Armstrong, and Charlie Thorn; along with multiple nieces and nephews who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Suzanne’s faith, warmth, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

“To-de-do,” Mame — until we meet again in heaven.

Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, WV, on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the 12:00 PM funeral service. Reverend Ray Frankhouser will officiate. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
