Tammy Lane (Legeer) Thrift

Tammy Lane (Legeer) Thrift, 59, of Oakland, MD, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. Tammy was born on January 28, 1966 in Baltimore, MD, daughter of the late William Frederick and Virginia Margaret (Baker) Legeer.

Tammy was a member of the Elks Lodge #2481. She enjoyed drinking coffee, playing cards and dice, socializing and having fun. She adored her cats. Her family would agree that she loved people and would give her shirt off her back to help someone in need. Most of all, Tammy was a caring and beloved mom and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Tammy is survived by one son, John (Donna) Ayers, of Oakland, MD; five daughters, Tiffany Thrift, of Oakland, Jessica (James) Ayers, of Oakland, Crystal Thrift, of Oakland, Ashley (Josh) Shannon, of SC, Amanda Ray, of Baltimore; former husband and best friend, Robert Barry Thrift, of Oakland; twenty-three grandchildren, Kailey, Connor, Justin, Emma, Kaleb, Alyvia, Karlee (who was like a daughter to Tammy), Talon, Taiman, Shylow, Emery, Aidan, Lexi, Christian, Micah, Ryder, Gabriel, Lucas, Lincoln, Zachary, Mitraya, Alex, Sean; one brother, Frederick Legeer, of Oakland; and a special cousin and best friend, Cathy McHale, of Oakland.

In addition to her parents, Tammy was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Legeer; and one sister, Donna Legeer.
