Thelma Ruth Riley

Thelma R. Riley, 87, of Irish Ridge Road, Howesville, WV, died Monday, July 6, 2015, at Heartland of Preston County, in Kingwood.

Thelma was born June 9, 1928, at Borgman, the only child of the late Lester A. and Opel (Wilhelm) Jefferys.

She was a member of the Howesville Church of Christ, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Col. Rowan VFW Post 2345 of Tunnelton. She was a graduate of Kingwood High School, class of 1945. She worked at Morgan Shirt Factory in Terra Alta, the Sterling Faucet Factory in Reedsville, and was a Teacher's Aide at Tunnelton High School.

She is survived by one son, Douglas E. Riley and wife Danie (Zugar) Riley of Tunnelton; one daughter, Tina Marie Riley of Morgantown; two grandsons, Shawn Riley(Ruby) of San Fransico, CA, Scott Riley of Terra Alta and one adopted grandson, Aleksandar Fillipovic (Rebecca) of Kihei, HI.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Willis James "Bill" Riley; her step-mother, Effie (Plum, Riley) Jefferys; one infant son, Carl Walter Riley.

Family and friends may call at the Rotruck-Lobb Funeral Home, Kingwood Chapel, 295 South Price Street, on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm; on Thursday, July 9, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Minister Gene Kessel officiating. Interment will follow at the Maplewood Cemetery, Kingwood.

The family would like to thank the staff of Heartland of Preston County for all their kindness and efforts shown to Thelma and her family. She could not have received kinder or better care anywhere.

The family requests that memorial donations be made in Thelma's memory to the Howesville Church of Christ, 2723 Irish Ridge Road, Tunnelton, WV 26444.
