Thomas Jeffery Powell

Thomas Jeffery Powell, 73, of Tunnelton, WV, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at his home. He was born on May 19, 1952 in Kingwood, son of the late Orva David and Beulah Virginia (DeBerry) Powell.

Thomas proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He had worked as a truck driver for Grose and Sons, and as a coal miner. He enjoyed wood working and repurposing old barnwood. Thomas found peace tending to his garden with his grandchildren, and gun collecting.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Rose Ann (Stonebraker) Powell; three daughters, Stephanie “Snuffy” Powell-Hillery, of Tunnelton, Kathryn “Jake” Powell, of Albright, Beth “Willy” Powell, of Howesville; grandchildren, Ethan Hillery, Jake Hillery, Mason “Monkeyboy” Lewis, Grace “Princess” Powell Hooton; one sister, Sharon “Sissy” Stonebraker; and several nieces and nephews.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Harry Powell, David Powell, Bobby Powell, and Dennis Powell.

Cremation services will be accorded by Kingwood Funeral Home and Crematory, 295 S. Price St., Kingwood. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 2pm, at his home.
