William Charles Murr

William Charles Murr, 69, of Terra Alta, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 10, 2026, surrounded by his family. William was born on April 9, 1956, in Washington, D.C., a son of the late Joseph John Murr, Sr. and Emma Marie (Tate) Murr.

William is survived by his beloved wife, Melody (Carper) Murr; two daughters, Elizabeth Murr, of Oregon, and Stephanie Murr, of Erie, PA; and three siblings, Cecilia Lynn Chase, Joseph John Murr, Jr., and Theresa Marie Smith.

Raised in Takoma Park, Maryland, William dedicated himself to helping others early in life as a volunteer firefighter with Chillum in Prince George’s County, where he also served as an EMT. A skilled craftsman, he enjoyed woodworking in his free time and took pride in building and fixing things with his hands. William was employed as a building engineer for JLL in Baltimore, where his strong work ethic and practical knowledge were valued by those who worked alongside him.

Per his wishes, William will be cremated.
