William “Bill” Henry Prince, age 96, of Kingwood, WV, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025, at his home. He was born in Brownton, WV, April 30, 1928, a son of the late Worthy Reed Prince and Audrey Sarah (Braham) Prince.
Bill was an accomplished photographer. His primary theme was to highlight the natural beauty of Preston County through his lens. Many photos have been featured in numerous businesses throughout the region and are now on permanent display in the Grand Hallway of McGrew House. He was a life member of the F.O.E. #2391, a life member of the Irona VFW, the Preston County Chamber of Commerce, and the McGrew Board of Directors. He was a US Army Veteran, an Army Guard Reservist, and a member of the Army National Guard at Camp Dawson with 22 years of service.
Surviving are: three daughters, Eliska Diller and husband Brian, of Masontown, PA, Karen Lynn Ortwein, of Cape Coral, FL, and Trinka Prince, of Morgantown, WV; three grandchildren, Kelly Negron and husband Armando, of Ft. Myers, FL, Steven Hahn and companion Kasey Williams, of Morgantown, WV, and Talia Betourney, of Ontario, CA; one great granddaughter, Alex Mattia and husband Nick, of Ft. Myers, FL; one great great granddaughter arriving March 2025; one brother Leonard Prince, of Florence, SC; one sister Sandy Lawson, of Annapolis, MD; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: two sisters, Norma Rosalie Newbauer, and Bonnie Savage; and one brother Robert Prince.
Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, WV, on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 2 pm until 6 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Monday, January 13, 2025, at 11 am with Pastor Michael Yates officiating. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Full military graveside rites will be accorded by the Preston County Colorguard and the US Army Colorguard of Camp Dawson.
