William "Bill" Ernest Kennedy

William “Bill” Ernest Kennedy, 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, in Kingwood, WV. He was born on March 5, 1939, in Mount Pleasant, TN, a son of the late Ernest H. Kennedy and Artie May (Brown) Kennedy.

Bill proudly served in the United States Air Force for 23 years, attaining the rank of E-7 before retiring. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Bill loved fishing, tending to his gardens, and growing flowers and vegetables. Above all, he cherished being a grandfather.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Kathleen “Kay” Belinda (Coles) Kennedy; one son, Patrick Morin and his wife, Tamara, of Aldie, VA; five grandchildren, Julia, Brandon, Nicole, Carl, and Sammy; five great-grandchildren, Lizzie, Mikey, Benny, Justin, and Juliana; and one sister, Donnie.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by one daughter, Yvonne; one brother, Jerry; and four sisters, Jean, Libby, Anne, and Ruby.

In keeping with his wishes, Bill will be cremated.
