Wilma E. Hyre, 93, of Belmont, WV gained her heavenly wings on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, surrounded by her family.
She was born on March 30, 1928, in Preston County to the late William Mordicia and Iola Martha (White) Wotring.
She was a 1947 graduate of Kingwood High School, married the love of her life on June 3, 1958 and celebrated 71 years of marriage in June. Wilma enjoyed hunting, fishing, and anything in the great outdoors. Most of all she believed in the Lord Jesus Christ. Her children, grandchildren and great-grand children were loved beyond measure by her and have many happy memories of their time together. She was a member of the Belmont Baptist Church, Eastern Star Chapter 127 Rowlesburg, WV, Daughters of the American Revolution Ohio Valley Chapter 996021
Wilma is survived by her husband of 71 years, William W. Hyre, her children, Bradford (Les) Hyre of Syracuse, NY, Brenda (Michael) Sarver, Little Hocking, OH, Nancy Carpenter of St. Marys, WV, and William A. (Sara) Hyre, Belmont, WV brother-in-law, Kenneth (Barb) Rile of Oakland, MD; grandchildren, Megan Crooks, Shane & Elissa Hyre, Amber (Jeremy) Mayfield, Emily Carpenter, Benjamin (Kelsey) Hyre, Heather ( Kade) Vanmol; Great-grandchildren, Erin Sarver, Lilly Walkers, Alivia Crooks, Roman and Opal Mayfield, Adalynn and Luke Hyre, Amos Vanmol.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald (Ida) Wotring, Jack (Maxine) Wotring; sisters, Betty Wotring, Norma (Richard) Snider, Martha Riley; son-in-law, Philip Carpenter. A Graveside service will be held, under the direction of Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, 4528 Herring Road, Masontown, WV on Friday, September 17, 2021, at 2:00 pm with Paster Scott McGraw officiating.
The family requests that any memorial donations be made in Wilma’s memory to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 4528 Herring Road, Masontown, WV 26542.
